British Academy Funding
The British Academy provides a range of grants and fellowships, from the postdoctoral level upwards, to support research across the Humanities and Social Sciences.

Small Research Grants
Awards are available to support primary research in the humanities and social sciences. Applicants may apply for up to £10,000 to support a research project lasting up to 24 months.
The BA/Leverhulme Small Research Grants 2017 call is currently open, with a funder deadline of 24 May 2017.
Please note that the Research Office do not check applications submitted under this call, due to their low value. The British Academy, in response to very high demand for this call, will now not be accepting applications that are submitted with clear errors, and will be withdrawing such applications.
It is therefore essential that applications to this scheme are given due consideration by the Principal Investigator and RGA.
Fellowships are for a period of not less than 6 months and not more than 12 months, and are funded under the Full Economic Costing regime. The Academy will fund the salary of the Fellow, research expenses and overheads - a capping system applies.
The British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship scheme is currently closed; the full stage application deadline for the 2016-17 call was 18 January 2017.
The stated aim of PDF awards is to offer opportunities for outstanding early career researchers to strengthen their experience of research and teaching in a university environment. 45 Fellowships are expected to be awarded in the 2017 competition. Fellowships are for three years, and are covered under the Full Economic Costing regime.
The British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship scheme is currently closed; the full stage application deadline for the 2017 call was 1 March 2017. Successful outline applicants were notified to proceed to full stage in January 2017.

British Academy / Leverhulme Trust Senior Research Fellowships
Fellowships are for a period of 12 months. Awards enable established scholars to focus on a major piece of research, by funding replacement teaching costs to cover the award-holder's administrative and teaching duties.
The British Academy/Leverhulme Trust Senior Research Fellowships scheme is currently closed; the application deadline for the 2016-17 call was 16 November 2016.
