The Isaac Newton Trust is a charity that is regulated by the University. It provides important funding in the areas of seed funding and matched funding against externally awarded projects.

Research Grants in the Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences

The Trust is a major contributor to this scheme, which includes a Small Research Grant element. There are two calls per annum in Michaelmas and Lent Terms.

Matched Funding - ESRC Future Research Leaders &  Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships

The Trust supplies, on behalf of the University, the matching funding that allows post-doctoral researchers selected by external fellowship competitions to hold their awards in Cambridge.
