Biography
As Research Facilitator, I support researchers applying for funding through European and International organisations. My role involves running training sessions, discussing funding opportunities with individuals and groups, providing feedback on grant applications, coordinating peer-review and mock interview panels, and keeping up-to-date on the wider research funding landscape.
The most rewarding aspect of my job is working closely with individuals and teams on the development of their grant proposals. Whatever career stage of the researcher or scale of the project, it is a privilege to support such a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Over the past five years, I have supported applications made to various funding organisations such as the European Union (including Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe), UK Research Councils, academies, charity funders (i.e. Wellcome, Leverhulme Trust), and governmental departments (i.e. DFID, DfE, and local government), as well as those in the private sector (SMEs, Pharmaceuticals, Industry).
My background is in Art History and English Literature and I received my PhD from De Montfort University in 2016 for my research on gender and national identity in the Boy's Own Paper. Before that, I studied 20th Century Literature and Art History at the University of Sussex.
