Research Interests
Dr. Kathryn Moeller's research examines the influence of U.S. corporate power on education and society. Her first book, The Gender Effect: Capitalism, Feminism, and The Corporate Politics of Development (University of California Press), explores the gendered and racialised practices of U.S.-based transnational corporations, focusing on the entwinement of Nike’s labour practices and its development interventions in the Global South. Her second book project, Silicon Futures: How Silicon Valley Venture Capitalists Shape Education around the World, explores how Silicon Valley’s knowledge, politics, and capital are influencing the future of education and society.
