Research Interests
I study critical race theory in education, a perspective that was born out of a critique of the US as a liberal/racial nation-state. I have been thinking through how critical race theory may be adapted in a transnational analysis given the interconnectedness of global racial violence—from detention of Muslim international students on American university campuses to Gaza, Myanmar, Kashmir, India, and Western China.
