Support and contacts across the University: Overview

Support for funding-application development, review and submission is available through a network of administrators that sit in different parts of the University. These teams work closely with knowledge exchange, impact and innovation networks throughout a project's lifecycle. 

Research Grants Administrators

Main point of contact within departments for funding applications. Works closely with the AHSS Research Facilitation Leads and the Research Operations Office.

AHSS Research Facilitation Leads

Translate a research idea into a project that fits funders' requirements. Works across teams to support and coordinate application development and submission. Be in contact for the following:

  • Funding application development
  • Feedback and proposal discussion offered from funder perspective
  • Guidance on structuring your funding project
  • Grant-writing training and information sessions
  • Internal Peer Review Programme

AHSS Research Strategy Manager and REF Lead

Leads on School research strategy initiatives and cross-team coordination. REF Administration lead.

AHSS REF Administration Team

Supports REF 2029 preparations.

HSS Research Ethics Committee

Reviews more complex research ethics applications that have been escalated to School-level from researchers based in the School of Arts and Humanities and the School of the Humanities and Social Sciences.

Research Communications

Provides support for researchers with internal and external communication projects, initiatives and news items. 

Cambridge Research Office

All funding applications undergo checks by Research Operations Office before submission to the funder. Coordinates with the Research Grant Administrators and AHSS Research Facilitation Leads on submission logistics. Manages post-award contracts and works closely with department finance teams on awards.

Research Strategy Office

Manages restricted calls (when the funder limits the number of applications the University can put forward).

Knowledge Exchange, Engagement and Impact Team

Supports impact and policy projects and provides advice for impact in funding projects. Coordinates Arts and Humanities Impact Hub.

Cambridge Enterprise

Support academics, researchers, staff and students in achieving knowledge transfer and research impact. Helps innovators, experts and entrepreneurs use commercial avenues to develop their ideas and expertise for the benefit of society, the economy, themselves and the University.

CUDAR

The Cambridge University Development and Alumni Relations office is responsible for alumni engagement and fundraising on behalf of the University. They are responsible for:

  • Raising major philanthropic gifts from alumni and non-alumni
  • Communicating persuasively to inspire, inform and engage our audiences
  • Building links and encouraging lifelong relationships between the University and its alumni and supporters
  • Ensuring that the worldwide community of over 300,000 alumni are well-equipped to be effective ambassadors and advocates for Cambridge.
